Another year, another mix of highs and lows. This year has been especially challenging, and I’ve had my share of struggles along the way. As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect—on both my progress and the areas that need realignment.
Let’s address the elephant in the room: it’s been a few months since I’ve consistently posted anything outside of my monthly resets. Finding my place within my brand and deciding what I truly want to share has been a tough journey. But I’m now in the final stages of a rebrand that’s been a long time coming, and I’m ready for the next phase: implementation. In 2025, it’s go-time.
This year has tested me, and I’m excited to bring all the intense planning and vision to life. Along the way, I’ve made a conscious effort to prioritize self-care, ensuring I enter this new chapter feeling grounded and recharged.
Self-Care in 2024: Massages, Home Spa, and Body Therapy
Let’s start with self-care. This year, I made regular deep-tissue massages, chiropractor appointments, and foot therapy a priority—all with the goal of staying healthy and centered. By June, though, I was feeling lost and worn down, partly from neglecting my own needs and partly due to major expenses that took a toll on my finances. Climbing out of that rut felt slow—almost like I was crawling. But by August, I had finally recovered and felt like I was on solid ground again, with life beginning to look bright once more.
Since then, I’ve kept up with regular deep-tissue massages and added home spa treatments to my routine, which have been a blessing. Each session not only calms my body but also helps soothe my mind, giving me the space to disconnect from stress and reconnect with myself. Taking these intentional pauses has become a vital part of my self-care, allowing me to feel both renewed and prepared for the challenges of each week.I have been going to the gym consistently for two years now and this year i have tried to become more structured in how I work out. This year I have focused on weight training. I feel like my body has changed, I also feel pain and i use my self care to recover. It is still a work in progress, but I believ I can hone in what I need to.
I’ve also been reconnecting with nature, making it a priority to spend time in peaceful places without cars and other distractions. Being in these natural spaces has allowed me to clear my mind, breathe deeply, and find moments of true stillness—something I had been missing in the usual bustle. Nature has become a sanctuary for me, grounding me in a way that’s both calming and revitalizing.
Alongside these practices, I’ve been focusing on my Christian walk—a grounding that has brought deeper clarity and purpose. I’m working to stay rooted in practices that nourish my spirit, from prayer and reflection to reading Scripture that speaks to my current season. This spiritual journey has added a layer of mental peace, reminding me that self-care is about more than just physical well-being; it’s about feeling aligned with my values and sense of purpose.
In this next phase, I want to keep leaning into both the practices and beliefs that support my mental, physical, and spiritual health. It’s about creating a balance that truly sustains me—one where I can keep growing and feel secure, no matter what’s ahead.
Career
This year, I found a new level of structure and consistency in my career. I’ve worked hard to build a solid foundation in my current role, honing my skills and gaining confidence in my day-to-day responsibilities. Alongside this, I’ve made real progress on my portfolio, which has been a key part of my larger vision. Each addition to my portfolio feels like a step toward showcasing my skills and expertise beyond just the regular 9-to-5.
My rebranding journey has been all about bringing clarity to my goals and building a path toward work that truly excites me. Through this rebrand, I’m carving out space to focus on projects and creative outlets that align with my long-term vision. It’s about creating a platform where I can showcase my voice, skills, and personal brand in areas that go beyond my current job, tapping into my passions and expanding my reach.
Ultimately, this year has been about bridging the gap between where I am and where I want to go. I’m ready to take on projects that feel more personal and impactful, whether it’s through content creation, sharing my journey, or building a name for myself in spaces that resonate deeply with me. This shift marks a step toward a career that’s not only sustainable but also fulfilling and true to who I am.
Leaving 2024
Biggest Takeaways from 2024
This year taught me that navigating hardship often feels like facing the worst possible moments—it’s intense, exhausting, and sometimes isolating. But once you push through and find yourself on the other side, there’s a profound sense of resilience and recovery. Each challenge has been an opportunity to build a stronger foundation within myself, piece by piece, forming a strength I hadn’t realized I was capable of.
Going through these tough experiences has shown me that resilience isn’t something we’re simply born with; it’s something we actively cultivate. Every hardship added a layer of “thick skin,” giving me the tools and perspective I need to take on bigger challenges and chase after dreams I once thought were out of reach. I’ve come to understand that it’s in these difficult, uncomfortable moments that we discover what we’re truly made of. I’m leaving 2024 with a deeper sense of inner strength, ready to tackle the unimaginable and move forward with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence.
I’ve also learned that when we see someone strong, it usually means they’ve been through their own trials to become the person we admire. Strength is built, not given. I’m leaving 2024 with a deeper sense of inner fortitude, ready to tackle whatever lies ahead with renewed purpose and confidence.
