I have officially finished my first month working full time in a professional setting. Well I have been working for three weeks official. I have a full-time position which means that I have to be on top of my work life, but also find time to be on top of my personal life and my blog and other things that I love doing. Now I have seen a lot of individuals on youtube doing Monthly Resets and I really life the setup. Before I start doing videos with this concept, I wanted to try it out first. I have also already tried to make a video , but I feel like posting about it on the blog first will help me develop the idea into a video.
Closing out August
For my reset, I will start out with August. I looked at some of the goals I had for August and which of them I accomplished. I had few goals for August, and I accomplished all of them.
Goal # 1: Getting a Job
My first goal for August was to get a job. By mid August, I got a job and already received my first check. This was my second biggest goal for August and I was excited that I was able to achieve it before August ended.
Goal # 2: Dad’s Surgery
My first biggest goal was to successful get through my dad’s cataract surgery. My dad has been dealing with cataracts for three plus years. Last year around this exact time,I made an appointment for him to have his surgery when I was leaving for London. Unfortunately, his blood pressure was too high and he couldn’t get it done. Without me around, he made the plan to wait until his job was on a break and I was back home.
I was very much relieved to have one of his eye fixed. Now a goal i will have in July 2023 is to get his other eye fixed.
Goal # 3: Strengthening my relationship with GOD
I have always seen myself as having an amazing relationship with God. As I transitioned from college to the workplace I wanted to strengthen my relationship with God and my spirituality, but also find my way of study and growing closer to the word. I learned a lot of things while being in university and developed opinions. My continued goal is to align my religion to my opinions.
I think I have been successful is beginning this process. In August, I bought myself a study bible; I have been creating a study plan as I read and learned. Also, I have a brand new Pinterest Board with Study Bible inspiration and Quotes.
Goal # 4 : Getting to Hobbies that i loved
Before college, I had a lot of things that I loved doing, but I stopped because school obligations took over. I have been slowly getting back into these hobbies. One of the big hobbies that I wanted to focus on was me reading books and I believe I achieved this. I will have a whole section dedicated to my reading below. My goal for reading was to read one book this month to slowly start back up on reading.
I found myself remembering times when I would read a lot of books and read a book a day. I was slightly jealous of my old self for having the time to read. Not only did I achieve the goal of reading one book a month, for the month of August I read FOUR books. I surpassed my expectation. Creating things have always been a passion of mine and I have started sketching again. I cannot wait to discover new hobbies, but also rediscover old ones.
Goal # 5: Stay organized in my space and in my mind
I have a need to be clean mentality, but unfortunately that doesn’t translate to my living area. So my goals wasn’t to clean the spaces, but to make sure everything was organized in my room and also to have my thoughts organized in my journals
For the month of August, i looked around my room and journal to see what systems worked best for me and in September my goal will be to implement most of them.
Those were my goals for the month of August and I am happy to have achieved them all. But, I am more excited to expand on some of the goals to make them more of ongoing goals with different stages. The month of August has been a very crazy and busy month and I cannot be happier.
