To 2024: A Farewell Letter

Another year has come and gone,

A chapter etched in pain, in chaos—

A story I never signed up for, yet lived.

This year, I learned—oh, how I learned.

I fell, not once but many times.

Each fall, each trial, each heartbreak,

Carved resilience deep into my soul.

Life is neither cheap nor simple,

But it is rich, abundant in lessons.

As I close this chapter,

I have one word: thank you.

Thank you, 2024.

You weren’t kind, but you were necessary.

You weren’t easy, but you shaped me.

You tested me, stretched me,

Pushed me to the edge of who I thought I was.

Through storms and fog,

I stumbled, but never stopped.

Even when clarity seemed distant,

I found my way,

Grateful for the light,

Grateful for the grace.

When I say thank you,

I truly mean thank you to God.

For holding me, guiding me,

Whispering strength into my soul

When I had none of my own.

This year, I learned to live—

Not merely exist,

But to savor, to feel, to step out

Of the loop of work, home, repeat.

I found fluidity. I found freedom.

I found me.

The standards I chased

Were never external.

They were here, within,

Waiting to be rediscovered.

I met her this year—

My alter ego,

A woman of duality:

Strong, yet soft.

Edgy, yet graceful.

Two sides, finally aligned.

Thank you, God,

For introducing me to her.

For showing me

That I am already whole.

Now, I look ahead.

Here’s to 2025—

A year to bloom, to thrive.

I know there will be rain,

But I choose to welcome the sun.

With grace, with hope,

With every part of me ready to embrace

The journey ahead.
